Firecrest 38 Climbing Pack
The Blue Ice Firecrest 38 is a fully-featured technical alpine pack built for climbers and ski mountaineers who move between disciplines across the same season. At 965g for a 38-litre pack with A-frame and diagonal ski carry, dual ice axe holders, a removable avalanche pocket, and a 2kN-rated carabiner ski system, it packs a considerable feature set into a lightweight build. The Firecrest is designed to move with you on technical terrain — to be worn and climbed in, not set down on sharp ground.
- Dual ski carry system — both A-frame (via aluminium G-hook compression straps) and diagonal ski carry (via adjustable 2kN-rated carabiner), allowing skis to be stowed and retrieved without removing the pack.
- Dual ice axe holders — two independent ice tool attachment points for carrying axes or technical tools on the approach or descent.
- Removable avalanche pocket — wider and fully padded, housing probe, shovel handle, and shovel blade in a dedicated removable sleeve; detaches cleanly when not needed on summer objectives.
- Full-length side access zip — runs the full height of the main compartment for direct access to the bottom of the pack without removing it on a stance or belay.
- Hybrid carry system with chest pockets — high-performance suspension with load-lifter straps, fixed padded waistbelt, and chest-mounted pockets for nutrition and navigation.
- 2L zippered lid pocket — accessible top pocket for items needed at pace, plus a secure internal pocket under the lid for valuables.
- Stretch side pocket — quick-grab external pocket for water bottles, snacks, or gloves without stopping.
- Helmet and hydration compatible — fits a helmet carry system (sold separately) and accommodates a hydration bladder internally.
- 210D High Tenacity Nylon 6.6 with carbonate coating — Bluesign-approved, PFC-free construction. 210D HT nylon is a technical performance fabric optimised for weight-to-strength ratio; it is not an abrasion-heavy construction fabric.
