Field Compass

The Silva Field is a compact, waterproof baseplate compass designed for schools, youth groups, DofE expeditions, and leisure outdoor navigators taking their first steps with map and compass navigation. It covers the essentials reliably — rotatable housing, 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 map scales, declination scale, and rubber-grip bezel — in a simple, durable format that works straight out of the box with the Silva 1-2-3 System®.

• Compatible with the Silva 1-2-3 System® — the rotatable housing works directly with Silva's three-step navigation method, making it the natural starting point for anyone learning map and compass navigation from scratch.
• Map scales 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 — baseplate measuring in mm with both OS standard scales; compatible with the vast majority of walking maps used in Ireland and the UK.
• Declination scale inside the capsule — allows magnetic variation to be set and accounted for accurately, a key practical feature for real-world navigation.
